Job description
Position Overview:
As a Senior Power Engineer, you will lead project teams in designing and enhancing high-quality solutions for a variety of utility distribution systems. Your role is pivotal in overseeing the entire design and construction lifecycle, ensuring that electrical distribution plans are meticulously tailored to meet budgetary constraints, design criteria, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership: Lead the development of distribution voltage packages for both overhead and underground projects
Technical Expertise: Review and validate various distribution calculations, such as cable pulling, voltage drop analysis
Apply comprehensive knowledge of NESC and utility standards
Project Management: Collaborate in establishing comprehensive schedules, scopes, budgets, and resource forecasts.
Innovation and Problem-Solving: Utilize your expertise to innovate and develop innovative design solutions for complex projects
Quality Assurance: Oversee rigorous Quality Control assessments of project deliverables
Construction Oversight: Conduct field inspections of electric facilities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present detailed reports for clients and industry publications
Client Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and contractors. Identify new business development opportunities
Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the overall objectives of the engineering team and organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in distribution engineering
Extensive knowledge of electrical distribution power flow
Strong understanding of overhead and underground construction methods, distribution system equipment, and GIS applications.
Expertise in easements, right-of-way, and permitting processes related to distribution projects.
