Senior Electrical Engineer

Job description

A well-established IPP in Germany is continuing to strengthen its technical team as it expands its battery energy storage portfolio nationwide.

The business has built a strong presence in the German market, with a large in-house team covering development, construction and operations. With a project pipeline approaching 5GW and nearly 3GW of installed capacity, the company is actively delivering and operating PV and BESS assets at scale. The platform is further strengthened through backing from one of Germany’s largest construction groups, providing long-term stability and delivery expertise.

As part of this growth, the company is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the technical design and delivery of utility-scale BESS projects across Germany.

The Role

  • Take technical ownership of the electrical scope for BESS projects from early development through commissioning

  • Define and review electrical concepts, specifications and layouts (MV/HV, protection, grid connection, SCADA)

  • Manage technical interfaces with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants and grid operators

  • Support procurement, tender evaluations, FAT/SAT and commissioning activities

  • Ensure compliance with German grid codes, standards and internal quality requirements

  • Provide technical input across the wider PV and storage portfolio as required

Your Background
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Strong experience in utility-scale energy projects (BESS experience highly advantageous)

  • Solid understanding of HV/MV systems, grid connection, protection and control

  • Experience working within the German regulatory and grid environment

  • Comfortable working in an owner’s engineer / IPP environment

  • Fluent in German and English

Why Join?
  • Join a stable and established IPP with a long-term strategy in Germany

  • Work on large-scale, technically complex BESS projects with real delivery momentum

  • Be part of a sizeable, experienced local team rather than a start-up platform

  • Strong project pipeline and clear visibility of future work

  • Competitive remuneration and flexibility on location within Germany

This is a role suited to engineers who want technical ownership, long-term project visibility and the chance to contribute to one of Germany’s most active renewable and storage platforms.
