Job description

The Green Recruitment Company are working alongside Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy. The Group produces hydropower, wind power, solar power, gas-fired power, and supplies district heating.

If you’re an experienced Business Developer with previous expertise in power trading or flexibility management and preferably with previous exposure to batteries or hydrogen, you can start a career that helps to solve the climate crisis. By joining the Southern European Origination team, you will help navigate this client through the challenges of the liberalised markets and related regulations, seeking out opportunities to develop and grow new business.

 

The Role:

The individual will be part of the Italian Origination business. The role requires in-depth knowledge of Italian short-term power markets and regulation as well as a high-level understanding of the business cases for investing into new flexibility sources such as batteries and hydrogen. The person is expected to develop a profitable and scalable business case for a third-party flexibility business in Italy encompassing market potential, value generation strategy, customer development, origination, product development and trading/optimisation strategy.

The employee is also expected to manage ongoing customer relationships and liaise extensively with the Portfolio Management and Optimisation teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Mapping of business cases of new flexibility sources in Italy

  • Development of new flexibility products in close collaboration with Originators, fundamental and pricing analysts as well as our short-term energy management department

  • Development of deep understanding of the investor logic and requirements for investing into new flexibility sources

  • Ancillary Services and Capacity market analysis and regular interaction with regulators, grid operators and

  • Provide overall cost analysis to implement a Flexibility business in Italy

 

About you: 

  • Relevant working experience preferably within short-term trading, PPAs or flexibility management in commercial driven role

  • Deep understanding of short-term power markets and regulation in Italy

  • Solid understanding of the investment cases for batteries, green hydrogen or other flexible generation/demand projects

  • Familiar with non-standard power contract terms and conditions as well as wholesale power trading agreement

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Italian and English language fluency is required.
