Job description
TGRC is excited to have partnered with a couple of Tier 1 private equity clients, in search of a Senior Board Advisor to originate and accelerate their renewables investment in Korea.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic advice and counsel to the board of directors and investment leads on matters related to business strategy, market trends, competitive landscape, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with board members and senior executives to develop and refine the organization's strategic vision, goals, and objectives.
Offer insights and recommendations on potential growth opportunities, expansion strategies, and strategic partnerships to enhance the organization's competitiveness and market position.
Advise the board on corporate governance principles, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best-in-class governance standards.
Review and provide input on governance documents, including charters, bylaws, codes of conduct, and committee mandates.
Monitor board effectiveness, conduct board assessments, and recommend enhancements to board processes and practices to optimize board performance and effectiveness.
Assess and advise on enterprise risk management practices, identifying key risks and mitigating strategies to safeguard the organization's assets, reputation, and long-term sustainability.
Review and provide input on risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and risk appetite.
Collaborate with the board and executive leadership to establish a robust risk oversight framework and ensure effective risk governance throughout the organization.
Expectations:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred.
Minimum of 15+ years of experience in renewable energy investments, project finance, private equity, or investment banking, with a proven track record of successfully originating and executing renewable energy transactions.
Deep understanding of the Korean renewable energy market, including regulatory frameworks, policy incentives, and market dynamics.
Strong network of relationships with key stakeholders in the Korean renewable energy ecosystem, including project developers, government agencies, financial institutions, and industry associations.
Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and business acumen, with the ability to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in a dynamic market environment.
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment concepts and ideas to senior executives and board members.
Passion for sustainability, clean energy, and environmental stewardship, with a commitment to driving positive impact through engineering innovation and leadership.
