Their mission is to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy solutions, focusing on the development, financing, construction, and operation of solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grid Connections Engineer to join our team in either Melbourne or Sydney. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in grid connection applications for renewable generation power plants and be proficient in power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and PowerFactory. This role requires deep knowledge of the Australian energy market and the technical expertise to manage grid connection processes for utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the grid connection application process for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and BESS.

  • Prepare and submit grid connection applications to relevant authorities and network service providers.

  • Perform detailed power systems studies using software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and PowerFactory.

  • Conduct load flow, fault level, dynamic stability, and harmonic analysis to ensure compliance with grid requirements.

  • Develop and review technical documentation related to grid connection, including connection agreements, compliance reports, and system impact studies.

  • Ensure all technical documentation meets regulatory standards and requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, network service providers, and regulatory authorities.

  • Maintain transparent and proactive communication with stakeholders throughout the grid connection process.

  • Provide technical support to project teams during the development, construction, and commissioning phases.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve grid connection issues that arise during project implementation.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes and best practices related to grid connection and power systems analysis.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Australian energy market, with a focus on grid connection for renewable energy projects.

  • Proficiency in power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and PowerFactory.

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and managing grid connection applications.

  • Strong understanding of Australian grid codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
