Job description

​We are seeking a Senior Associate for our Australian energy analytics team based in Sydney. Your role includes vital electricity market analysis shaping client decisions in the energy transition. This involves active participation in product development, client engagement, issue identification, analysis, and presenting findings to senior stakeholders. You will foster Sydney team growth, offer advanced analyses to top clients, and share insights globally within the clients' company. Suitable for experienced analysts from consultancies, energy, finance, or knowledge-driven firms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end research reports from concept to client presentation under senior APAC guidance.

  • Stay updated on policy, market, and tech advancements to provide data-driven insights on Australian power markets.

  • Represent the organization at external events, enhancing thought leadership, analysis, and offerings.

  • Play a vital role in product development, delivery, and client interaction, improving service quality.

  • Analyse energy transition for public/private clients; present findings in meetings.

  • Collaborate on company-wide forecasts, working with various teams within the business and working independently as well.

  • Senior Associate reports to Head of Research, overseeing junior analysts as part of the clients broader Research and Publications team.

What they are looking for:

  • 2-4 years' experience at reputable firms or institutions in consultancy, energy, finance, or knowledge-focused sectors.

  • High-quality university degree, first-class or upper-second-class.

  • Proven project management in collaborative team settings.

  • Skill in interpreting complex quantitative data for insights.

  • Effective communication across technical and non-technical domains.

  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset for business growth.

  • Preferably, prior involvement in energy-related projects or Australian energy policy, leadership experience, successful client collaboration, advanced data analytics proficiency, and strong academic record.
