Job title: Renewable Energy Planning Lead
Location: Greater London, England, United Kingdom (Hybrid)
The Green Recruitment Company have been exclusively engaged by a UK leading developer, owner, and operator of Bioenergy Assets in the UK – to support in their continued growth across the UK.
In addition to the existing portfolio, the business has an affluent project pipeline to develop & construct 15 further plants. Each project is valued at circa £25m.
The Business comprises a high pedigree of renewable energy & bioenergy professionals, however, in keeping with their ambitions seeks an astute & experienced Planning expert to lead the commencement of further project development & planning-related activities.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing & advising on the planning strategy, including planning appraisal of potential sites.
Liaising with & managing subject matter experts in support of getting projects construction-ready
Appropriate record-keeping and documentation of development activities
Preparation and submission of EIA Screening/Scoping Requests and Pre-Applications to the local planning authority.
Engagement and presentation to local stakeholders, including attendance at public exhibitions.
Preparation of Design & Access Statements, Planning Statements and EIA reports.
Attendance of planning committees and reviewing of Committee Reports and draft planning conditions.
Input to draft scheme development, including physical parameters of the proposed development.
Attendance at meetings with the local planning authorities and continued engagement with appointed case officers and statutory consultees.
Obtaining and reviewing consultation comments and responding where appropriate.
Requirements;
8+ years of planning experience (Minimum) - preferably in the construction or energy industry
Extensive track record of liaising with local planning authorities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication, organisational and management skills
(Highly desirable) - Bioenergy Experience
Please note, although the business offers work flexibility & hybrid working to a degree, office attendance & being a present member of the Team are hugely preferred.
