Job description
Job title: PV/CAD Designer
Location: London/North Yorkshire or WFH
TGRC is working with a leading renewable energy developer who is looking for a PV/CAD Designer to support the Technical Team across the development and construction of energy projects.
This involves the production of map-based plans, 2D and 3D scheme designs in PVCase/PVSyst, engineering details and 3D models to take our projects through to successful planning consent and ready-to-build status.
Responsibilities:
Create PV and other development designs using AutoCAD Map, PVCase and PVSyst based on design constraints, industry norms and site-specific considerations.
Design and production of maps and plans using raster and vector data including contour, DTM and DSM information following the company’s standards.
Creation and maintenance of template drawing library updated as per supplied product specifications.
Creation and amendment of maps and plans as required by Development Team members including:
Option and Lease plans,
Planning Application drawings (including annotated maps, GA drawings, sections and details) and as desirable;
3D modelling and animation to present proposals
Experience:
At least 4 years of experience using CAD to design and detail within the energy sector or built environment.
Industry-specific software ability in PVSyst, PVCase is essential.
2D and 3D design in AutoCAD + Map 3D is essential and GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS) and BIM are advantageous.
Integrating CAD-based engineering information with 3D maps and geospatial data (topographical / DTM / DSM).
Understanding of best practice CAD standards and their application.
Single Line Diagrams and electrical design experience an advantage.
Strong technical background working in the renewable energy sector with the ability to interpret map and engineering information and understand the fundamentals of energy projects.
Good professional communication and presentation skills.
Ability to multi-task, and manage work effectively and accurately to deadlines.
