Job description

​TGRC is partnering with a global player in the Solar PV development space to place a Project Engineering Manager in Denmark.

The Project Engineering Manager will collaborate with the EPCM and DEV Teams, they will lead, and monitor design, engineering, and development engineering activities from concept to connection to the grid in order to achieve the projects objectives within a specified time schedule in addition to performing job duties within the EPC contractor process selection and during construction of the projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages the technical needs in all stages of project from development to commissioning, including conceptual and advanced system design, observing regulatory codes as well as investor’s requirements, specify balance of systems, performs site visits, coordinates need for the permitting and technical support during the construction phase.

  • Reviews technical documentation such as site studies, reports, permits, etc. as related to design, cost or schedule impact

  • Participate to the selection of new suppliers and technology as well as the introduction of new products in the business.

  • Reviews and maintains drawing packages, energy production models, bills of materials, scopes of work and other technical project documentation provided by the back-office Team located in Mexico.

  • Prepares bid packages for subcontractors including scope of work, schedule, project description, and conceptual design.

  • Assists in the development and reviews of energy production models, project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards and quotes received from EPC and Construction contractors and equipment suppliers.

  • Coordinates internal resources for subject matter expertise and project risk reduction.

  • Implements external resources such as structural, civil, and electrical engineer consultants, geotechnical and topographic surveyors, other specialized professionals as needed and suppliers.

  • In collaboration with other team members, contributes to the completion of proposals to design and deliver PV and BESS projects,

  • Maintains continuous improvements in project designs, plans, processes, and construction.

  • Collaborates with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results.

  • Contributes to the due diligence carried out by the Investor technical Advisors, by addressing all technical and engineering questions in a successful way.

  • Leads the technical tasks in preparation of EPC proposals and the review of potential project acquisition opportunities.

  • Assists in field with site visits as needed, testing, commissioning, and start-up of constructed power plants.

  • Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.

  • Close feedback loop with development team to improve early stages of the projects.

 

Person Specification

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related engineering science

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional engineering experience in the solar industry

  • Relevant work experience in the design and development of power plants (in particular solar or wind power plants)

  • Willingness to travel, at least 25% of the time

  • Experience with AutoCAD (or equivalent)

  • Experience with photovoltaic performance modeling tools (preferably PVSyst)

  • Strong in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with Gantt charts (MS Project or equivalent)

  • Knowledge of the Electric Codes and Grid codes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player

  • Previous experience managing projects from initial design to installation and execution, preferred

  • Knowledge of permitting processes with local authorities having jurisdiction, preferred.

  • Fluent in English, Danish or Spanish as additional skills desirable
