Job description

The Development Manager manages the day to day development tasks for a set of large and complex renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle from initiation to handoff to operations post-construction. This role includes coordinating and reviewing the work product of multiple development functions, consultants, technicians, and more.

Additionally, the Development Manager is responsible for the execution and performance of complex multi-disciplinary projects with teams working across geographies. This position will work closely with interconnection, permitting, real estate/land acquisition, GIS, finance, M&A, design and engineering teams to achieve project and company goals.

Location: Washington, D.C.(Hybrid)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Business, planning, engineering, real estate, finance or related

  • 5+ years of project development experience

    (solar & renewables preferred)

  • Must have experience in commercial real estate, interconnection activities, AND land development/entitlement/permitting

  • Background in project skills, budgeting, and scheduling

  • Understanding renewable markets

  • Knowledgeable in GIS

  • Needs DL & Passport

Duties(25% travel)

  • Work with Senior Management to identify & prioritize target sites & acquisition targets for renewable opportunities

  • Be customer oriented & data-driven, multidimensional analysis incorporating input from cross-functional teams

  • Interconnection process management, land acquisitions, project permitting

  • Coordinate & guide broader development team to achieve objectives

  • Deliver development projects

  • Track project risk through development cycle, risk assessments & mitigations to senior management

  • Participate in development of key account & utility relationships, support origination of contracts w/ key accounts

  • Develop proposal strategies, RFP processes, negotiate terms for vendors & consultants who participate in development process

  • Develop/maintain business relationships with key consultants & vendors

  • Maintain & provide suggestions for project development tracking & reporting
