​The Principal Access and Approvals will play a key role in supporting land acquisition and securing necessary approvals (including permits and licenses) for projects in Norway. In this role, you will strategically manage land and approval requirements, working closely with project teams to ensure these needs are planned, scheduled, and delivered in accordance with global standards and procedures. Strong collaboration with project teams and corporate functions is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Support Norway Projects:

  Ensure effective delivery of land access, permitting, and approval processes in alignment with project schedules.

• Coordinate Approvals:

  Work with various business functions to identify, apply for, and secure necessary approvals, permits, licenses, and consents, both primary (e.g., ESIAs, rezoning) and secondary (e.g., building, construction, safety, operations).

• Regulatory Compliance:

  Identify and communicate all applicable regulatory requirements to Project and Commercial teams.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

  Assist in engaging government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders as part of the land access, permitting, and approvals process.

• Consultant Management:

  Develop scopes for consultants engaged for approvals, permits, and land access requirements; manage their work and coordinate information exchange between consultancies, project teams, and internal experts.

• Land Access Negotiations:

  Support negotiations with landholders, government entities, and other relevant parties.

• Regulatory Discussions:

  Engage with local municipalities and regulatory agencies to prepare, assess, and secure approvals, permits, licenses, and consents.

• Compliance Coordination:

  Ensure compliance with obligations and conditions attached to granted approvals or negotiated land agreements.

Desired Experience:

• Industry Experience:

  Over 10 years of experience in a permitting and regulatory role within the resources sector, energy industry, or equivalent.

• Land and Water Access:

  Extensive experience in land and water access/acquisition.

• Regulatory Approvals:

  Expertise in identifying, procuring, and managing regulatory approvals for large-scale projects in the renewable/resource industry.

• Greenfield Projects:

  Experience with major project greenfield permitting and approvals in Norway.

• Municipality Planning:

  Familiarity with Norwegian municipality spatial planning is beneficial.

• Educational Background:

  Degree or equivalent qualifications in a technical area within the renewables/resource industry (e.g., Engineering, Environment, Legal) or relevant work experience.
