Sector: Offshore & Onshore Wind | Renewable Energy Advisory
Recruitment Partner: TGRC (The Green Recruitment Company)
Introduction
TGRC is proud to be supporting a highly respected international consultancy in the appointment of a Principal Consultant to be based in Taipei. This is a senior, client-facing position offering the opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of wind energy advisory services in one of Asia’s most active and ambitious renewables markets.
As Taiwan continues to accelerate its offshore and onshore wind capacity development, this is a rare opportunity to shape and advise on landmark energy infrastructure projects with regional and global significance.
The Role
The Principal Consultant will lead complex technical and commercial advisory engagements across the full lifecycle of wind energy projects. The position will be responsible for delivering high-value consulting services to developers, investors, lenders, and public-sector stakeholders.
You will bring both technical and strategic insight to a wide range of client engagements, providing project management leadership, ensuring delivery quality, and building long-term partnerships across the renewables sector.
Key Responsibilities
Advisory Delivery
Lead the delivery of wind energy advisory services including feasibility studies, due diligence, permitting support, and owner’s engineering.
Provide expert guidance on project structuring, risk mitigation, and execution strategy for both greenfield and brownfield developments.
Act as the technical lead on multidisciplinary assignments, coordinating inputs from subject matter experts and internal teams.
Project Management
Manage complex project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
Oversee reporting, documentation, and presentation of findings to senior decision-makers and board-level stakeholders.
Client Relationship Management
Cultivate trusted relationships with project developers, financiers, government bodies, and global IPPs.
Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and contribute to business development activities in the Taiwan and broader APAC markets.
Leadership & Mentoring
Support junior consultants and technical teams with mentoring, training, and development of advisory capabilities.
Represent the firm at key industry events, conferences, and in client strategy sessions as a thought leader in wind project delivery.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a results-driven and technically confident professional with a strong background in wind energy consulting, project development, or EPC project delivery.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in wind energy project management, consulting, or engineering – with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in delivering wind energy advisory services across Asia or international markets.
Deep knowledge of offshore and onshore wind project development stages, including permitting, grid connection, construction, and financing.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
Professional fluency in English; Mandarin or other Asian languages highly desirable.
Degree-qualified in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Preferred Attributes
Previous experience working for a global consultancy, engineering firm, or project developer.
Familiarity with Taiwan’s renewable energy regulations, grid access policies, and local market dynamics.
Why Apply?
This is a high-impact role within a mission-led consultancy committed to accelerating the global energy transition. You will play a strategic role in guiding investment and development decisions on flagship wind energy projects, supported by a collaborative and international team of experts.
