Job Title: Paralegal

Location: London

Job Type: Contract, 9 month FTC​

Job Description:

Our client is one of the original players in the UK energy storage sector. There is a dedicated team here who are all market drivers in renewable energy with the goal of contributing to the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable economy. You'll have the chance to join this exciting environment as a Paralegal on a 9 month FTC with a strong possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with commercial and technical colleagues to review and finalise EPC, O&M and other technical document annexes and to review definitions for consistency with main body texts

  • Coordinate execution of a wide variety of legal agreements, including deeds, share purchase agreements, ECP, O&M, ICP and other material contracts

  • Negotiate confidentiality and basic service agreements, simple T&Cs and other pro forma documents escalating material amendments to LD for approval

  • Assist PMs, asset managers to monitor terms and conditions and supplier obligations under service contracts

  • Research points of law and provide concise and digestible summaries

  • Assist in drafting and amending documents

  • Support Legal Director in various legal and compliance related tasks

General Duties:

  • Helping to prepare first draft of applications, reports and filings

  • Assist risk and compliance support to maintain effective compliance and monitoring policies and protocols

  • Maintain various logs and entries required to ensure compliance with KYC, GDPR, Internal NDA and MAR regulations and compliance monitoring processes

  • Assist to conduct annual and biannual trainings

  • Monitor and announce open and closed periods

  • Track regulatory developments and provide risk and compliance updates and reports for IC, board and annual meetings

  • Where necessary, researching points of law and provide concise and accurate and business-relevant summaries

Qualifications/Training:

It is essential that the post holder has:

  • Minimum 1-4 years in a paralegal role and/or legal studies

  • Experience in drafting, research, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with EPC/O&M type agreements is a bonus
