Operations Manager

The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be supporting our client, a leading engineering group working across renewable assets including EV charging infrastructure, Commercial scale & utility Solar PV, Energy efficiency and battery Technology.

They are looking for an experienced Strategic Operations Manager to oversight teams across the construction & delivery department.

Key responsibilities:
  • Define strategies and procedures for the construction and delivery department.

  • Oversight of all teams that fall under the construction and delivery department, including operations and maintenance, commissioning and installation, and project management.

  • Distribute tasks and functions to all teams within the construction and delivery department in an appropriate manner.

  • Explore new ways to carry out construction and delivery operations across EVCP and Solar PV projects, to improve efficiency and reduce costs, ensure health and safety is adhered to, as well as customer and legal requirements.

  • Provide technical advice for advanced-level problem-solving.

  • Line management of several individuals across the department including workload planning and oversight.

  • Report to senior management regarding the status of projects and the department in a transparent and business-oriented manner.

  • Supervise the status of all projects including payments and collection, contracts and purchase orders, and their overall progress.

  • Participate in meetings with clients and suppliers as required. Any ad hoc tasks that are relevant to the role.

About you:
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Qualification or prior experience in renewable/sustainable energy is essential.

  • Prior experience working within a National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) accredited organisation is essential.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of: Health and Safety regulations. Construction, Design and Management (CDM) regulations. Electricity Safety, Quality, Continuity (ESQC) regulations

  • New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA). Electricity at Work regulations.

  • Ability to establish effective and cooperative working partnerships with a variety of stakeholders.
