Job Title: Offshore Wind Site Manager (Freelance)
Location: Japan
Pay Rate: $55-$75 per hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offshore Wind Site Manager to oversee the construction and commissioning of an offshore wind farm in Japan. As a freelance Site Manager, you will work closely with the project team to ensure that the offshore wind farm is constructed and commissioned safely, on time, and within budget. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the site team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and ensuring that quality standards are met. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced professional to contribute to the growth of renewable energy projects in Japan.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the offshore wind farm construction team to ensure that construction and commissioning is performed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards
Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental regulations are followed during the construction and commissioning process
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that construction schedules are met and projects are delivered within budget
Conduct daily inspections of the wind turbine components and construction worksite to identify potential hazards and ensure quality standards are met
Work closely with logistics and procurement teams to ensure that all necessary equipment, tools, and materials are available on site
Maintain accurate records of construction and commissioning progress, issues, and resolutions
Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during the construction and commissioning process and provide technical guidance to the construction team
Coordinate with third-party contractors to ensure that all works are performed in compliance with the project's specifications and quality standards
Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on construction and commissioning progress and issues
Qualifications:
At least 10 years of experience in offshore wind farm construction and commissioning, preferably with experience of the Asia-Pacific region
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to offshore wind farm construction and commissioning
Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team of construction technicians and contractors
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines and changing priorities
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
Working Conditions:
This is a freelance position for the duration of the construction and commissioning of the offshore wind farm project, expected to be 12-18 months in length
This position may require travel to different project sites within Japan, as needed
Work schedules may vary and require weekend or overtime work, as needed
