Wind Turbine Technician
Job description
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Hailo Lift Maintenance Technician to join an offshore wind operations team aboard a Service Operation Vessel (SOV). The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Hailo lifts used for personnel and equipment transfer between vessel and turbine platforms.
This is a rotational role (14/14) requiring offshore experience and competence in working in challenging marine environments. Candidates must be confident with technical diagnostics and follow strict safety protocols under LOLER and PUWER regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Hailo lift systems aboard SOV and turbine platforms.
Carry out routine inspections, ensuring all lifts are compliant with manufacturer standards and offshore safety legislation.
Diagnose faults and implement timely repairs to minimise operational downtime.
Maintain accurate service logs and issue reports for each lift maintained.
Collaborate with offshore wind technicians, marine crew, and O&M supervisors to ensure safe coordination of access operations.
Respond to emergency repair tasks during the rotation period as required.
Requirements
Proven experience maintaining Hailo or equivalent vertical access lift systems.
Offshore experience, ideally in wind or marine sectors.
GWO (BST, Sea Survival, Working at Heights) certifications.
Valid medical and offshore survival (BOSIET or equivalent).
Understanding of LOLER/PUWER, and mechanical/electrical fault diagnosis.
Strong team player with clear communication skills and safety-first mindset.
Desirable
Fitter or mechanical technician qualification (NVQ, HNC or equivalent).
Experience working on SOVs or other dynamic offshore support vessels.
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
