Job description

​We are currently seeking several Project Engineers to join our client U.S. team in support of an offshore wind project and other projects in the future. The Project Engineer/ Package Manager will have oversight over the Construction and Installation scope during the procurement phase and beyond. You will work with experienced, collaborative colleagues across the United States and globally to effectively carry out this and other exciting projects.

As Project Engineer, you will report to the Senior Project Manager on all matters related to the project works. The main tasks of the Project Engineer consist of:

  • Package Management of the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and installation project activities (per the respective area(s) / discipline(s))

  • Define the project owner’s priorities for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and installation activities (per the respective area(s) / discipline(s))

  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements including Permits, Certifying Verification Authority, etc.

  • Guarantee all QA, QC, HSSE and other project requirements are followed in the works

  • Ensure that the project documentation, specifications, procedures, etc. are followed

  • Prepare and/or support the generation of necessary project documentation (per the respective area / discipline)

  • Liaise with the Client’s Package Sponsors

  • Liaise with Vendor(s), Contractor(s), and Subcontractor(s) representatives

  • Liaise with the team for all interfaces

  • Monitor and report progress of the respective works to the internal project team and externally to the Client

  • Monitor the performance of the Vendor(s), Contractor(s), and Subcontractor(s) and ascertain that contractual, quality, schedule and cost targets are met

  • Monitor and manage change control

  • Resolve all day-to-day technical and contractual clarifications issued by the contractors / subcontractors.

  • Ensure all hazards have been identified and associated risks are assessed and controlled

  • Ensure the execution activities are in compliance with the original scope of work and the agreed contract

  • Support accident/incident reporting, investigation, follow-up, and close out recommendations

  • Assure system and subsystem completions, handover to Operations, and startup

  • Participate in meetings and discussions (internal team, third party, and client) related to the project

  • Area- / Discipline-specific activities as required

Required Professional Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience on large-scale projects in the energy sector (wind energy preferred)

  • Recent experience (within past 5 years) as Project Engineer (or equivalent) in the above-noted disciplines/areas in the offshore energy sector (wind energy preferred)

  • Demonstrated management skills, including the ability to coordinate complex, cross-disciplinary activities and teams to ensure safe, high-quality, on-schedule project execution

  • High level of proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, and other relevant software

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or discipline-relevant field

  • Legal authorization to live and work on a full-time basis in the United States
