Offshore Geotechnical Engineer - Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Projects
TGRC is seeking a skilled Offshore Geotechnical Engineer to join our project team in New York. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking renewable energy and infrastructure projects with a focus on offshore development.
Position Overview
Duration: 12-month contract
Location: New York
Experience: Experience in energy projects preferred
Compensation: $60 per hour
Job Description
As an Offshore Geotechnical Engineer, you will be essential in providing geotechnical expertise for the design, construction, and maintenance of offshore structures. Your responsibilities will include:
Subsurface Investigations: Plan and conduct offshore subsurface investigations, including seabed sampling and in-situ testing.
Data Analysis: Analyze geotechnical data from offshore surveys and model geotechnical behavior under marine conditions.
Design Support: Provide geotechnical input for the design of offshore foundations, including monopiles, gravity bases, and floating platforms.
Risk Assessment: Evaluate geotechnical risks related to offshore construction and recommend mitigation strategies.
Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and environmental scientists to integrate geotechnical findings with overall project goals.
Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and documentation to support project requirements and compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in offshore engineering or related projects.
Strong understanding of marine geotechnics, including seabed mechanics and foundation design.
Proficiency in geotechnical software tools and data analysis programs.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
