Job description

The Opportunity:

Join the Technical Portfolio Team in the Solar PV sector across Germany with an Infrastructure Investment Fund.

 

  • To organise and process data to support an efficient and effective asset management function
  • Optimise asset performance
  • Provide and improve visibility of portfolio data to stakeholders

 

The Role:

  • Be responsible for receiving, cleansing, and interpreting site data, remotely, from SCADA systems (and/or similar)
  • Be integrated with our inhouse team of technical Asset Managers and be responsible for bringing data issues to the attention of the team
  • Process large quantities of raw data and distil their findings into meaningful information on the condition and performance of sites
  • Support resolution of faults and incidents, making recommendations to the Asset Managers on the cause of data anomalies and possible actions to restore sites to normal operating condition
  • Be responsible for reconciliation of meter data and offtaker data, subsequent action to address differences;
  • Be responsible for the continued maintenance of data management systems, notably the upload of key performance indicators (“KPI”) into the asset management platform
  • Lead in the automation of the above processes and processes in general across the company
  • Contribute to the continued development and consolidation of our SCADA systems, including onboarding of new assets when acquired
  • Optimisation strategies to improve the performance of sites
  • Liaise with Operation & Maintenance (“O&M”) Contractors on data issues across daily, monthly, and yearly data reporting
  • Support asset managers in the quantification and decision making of LDs calculation due under contractual guarantees
  • Be responsible for third party data sharing e.g API, FTPs from both other SCADA systems and metering accounts.
  • Support the development of forecasting techniques

 

The Individual:

  • Strong experience in data management and analysis of solar assets (4 to 5 years’ experience)
  • Strong understanding of the technical performance indicators for solar, including energy yield analysis
  • Good experience of SCADA and/or remote data sensing applications
  • Good experience of data monitoring, remote sensing and cleansing large data sets
  • Good understanding of contractual guarantees
  • An aptitude for managing large data sets and drawing conclusions from them
  • Enthusiasm and interest for how data analysis can enhance asset performance
  • Good knowledge of the functioning and maintenance of communications systems
  • Good knowledge of the functioning and maintenance of data storage systems (software and hardware)
  • Strong academics
  • Good skills on all Microsoft packages, particularly Excel. Other packages such as PVsyst or similar preferable.
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Good understanding of other technologies, such as wind, preferable
