Job description
My client are a global professional services company in the renewable energy sector. Due to a vast amount of growth, they are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer specialised in Grid Stability & Operability. This role sits within the Power Networks Team, and will adopt a leading role in the designing, planning and developing of the mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive mechanical engineering solutions for power generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
Utilise your expertise in power systems to design and analyse mechanical components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and technical reports for power-related projects.
Conduct feasibility studies and performance assessments to optimise mechanical systems for power generation and distribution.
Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential challenges in power system designs.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to the professional growth of the team.
Engage with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and present innovative solutions that align with their project objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Chartered Engineer status with a recognised engineering institution (e.g., IMechE) is preferred.
Proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on power systems projects.
In-depth knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems, including familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for analysis, simulation, and design.
