Job description

Our client is after an Associate to join their London or Bristol office. You’ll be joining the Future Energy practice which covers all matters of real estate advice associated with clean energy development. This is a unique opportunity in that no future energy experience is required. Therefore, if you have an interest in the clean energy sector and want to transition into it, this is the perfect chance to do that.

Your Role:

This role is ideal for a junior lawyer who wants exposure to a wide variety of transactions with the advantage being that there are several senior team members available to support.

Day to day Expectations:

  • Working on drafting option agreements and leases on a wide range of clean energy projects (including wind, solar, battery storage, electric vehicles and hydro)

  • Carrying out due diligence on such projects

  • Dealing with the financing of clean energy projects and large-scale acquisitions / disposals

  • To maintain and improve relations with existing clients

Your Skills and Experience:

You will be/have:

  • A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered)

  • Experience as a qualified Real Estate lawyer. Exposure to Clean or Future energy matters would be a plus, but NOT essential!

  • A forward thinker who has excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills

  • Enthusiastically and commercially aware of business development

  • A desire for keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in your practice area and sector focus

  • An understanding of your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client

  • Ambitious team player who can support senior fee earners and add to their collaborative culture.

  • Real Estate experience is essential.
