​Our client, a leading law firm of the year, are growing out their Projects, Infrastructure and Construction team in the future energy sector. Due to their exceptional and constant growth, a vacancy has become available for a non-contentious Associate to join their London team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Construction Solicitor with experience who is looking for a long-term career move. You can develop and enhance your knowledge of the law and skills in such an innovative sector.

Your Role:

Our client’s team is a national team which consists of seven partners over four offices supported by several professionals at various levels. They have expertise across a range of sectors including real estate, the public sector and energy.

You’ll be joining the Clean Energy Team which is highly regarded in the sector and features in the Clean Energy Pipeline’s global league tables.

Our client advises developers, investors and lenders in relation to wind, offshore wind and solar generation as specialists as well as technologies like energy storage, EVCI and heat networks.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Have opportunities to work for high calibre clients on clean energy projects at the forefront of the market on complex contractual issues

  • Be encouraged to develop the business by building relationships with new clients and existing clients of the firm

  • Be encouraged to lead your own projects, with support being available as needed.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • It is essential that you have experience in non-contentious construction alongside prior experience working with clients in the clean/future energy sector.

  • Ideally, you will be a minimum of 2 years PQE

  • Open to consider applicants at NQ level+ providing that you have the relevant experience working with clean energy clients in your non-contentious construction seat, or as paralegal experience prior to qualification.

  • Experience of project documents (grid, offtake etc.) is not essential but is beneficial.

You will be/have:

  • A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered)

  • Experience of JCT and NEC and potentially FIDIC, MF/1 and other industry forms

  • A forward thinker with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines

  • Commercially aware with enthusiasm for business development

  • An appetite for keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in your practice area and sector focus

  • Able to understand your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client

  • Ambitious and enthusiastic team player who will support senior fee earners and contribute to their collaborative culture.
