Job description

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in building and nurturing long-term relationships with our strategic partners. Your responsibilities will include overseeing complex tender processes, making strategic pricing decisions, and utilising your sales acumen to drive financial growth through successful contract renewals, upselling opportunities, and key account management. Collaborating closely with internal teams, you will ensure that the renewal process is seamless, from pre-sale support to post-sale delivery.

  • Manage and renew key accounts with energy consumption above approximately 30GWh, encompassing both electricity and gas customers.

  • Build long-term relationships with customers and Brokers/Third Party Intermediaries (TPIs).

  • Oversee and coordinate complex tenders from enquiry to deal acceptance, ensuring efficient and professional handling of bids to secure contract renewals and negotiate favourable terms for Customers, TPIs and the business.

  • Determine pricing and deal structures to optimise propositions and drive growth. Collaborate with the Trading Desk team to structure appropriate proposals and products, tailoring solutions for key accounts.

  • Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for growth and upselling, explore & develop new products and opportunities.

  • Achieve targeted financial growth through retention and upsell/cross-sell, significantly contributing to the company's revenue and market share.

  • Manage internal stakeholders in Operations, Finance, and CRM to ensure high levels of overall customer experience and satisfaction.

  • Drive innovation to enhance the customer offering, staying updated on market trends and changes in the energy industry, acting as an industry expert for customers and enhancing the customer proposition.

  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on account performance and growth, providing insights into account performance, renewal rates, revenue growth, and potential opportunities for further development.

  • Lead on the delivery of strategies, including client liaison, stakeholder analysis, production of communication materials, consultation analysis and reporting.

  • Creation and maintenance of Key Account Plans for all Key Accounts.

Experience Required:

  • Demonstrable experience in similar roles with tangible delivery.

  • Extensive experience in UK I&C energy markets is essential.

  • Proven experience in key account management and commercial negotiations.
