​The Green Recruitment Company is looking for a Head of Solar Engineer for a leading global Independent Power Producers (IPPs) with presence in over 10 countries.

Role Overview:

As a Solar Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing support and expertise in technology, engineering, and asset integrity throughout all phases of the solar PV asset lifecycle. Your responsibilities will span acquisition, development, construction, and operation, ensuring that engineering decisions align with best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the solar PV engineering and technology area, responding to business needs for assets at various stages and M&A opportunities.

• Develop, implement, and maintain best practice management processes, guidance, and standards related to solar PV engineering.

• Conduct engineering and technical due diligence on potential acquisition projects, actively collaborating with country teams.

• Act as the central point of coordination for solar engineering and equipment-related issues, providing support to country and corporate teams.

• Serve as the technical lead for key equipment supply, supporting Project Managers during various project phases.

• Work closely with Performance and Asset Management teams to investigate root causes of performance issues.

• Identify innovative solutions for operations, remote condition assessments, and preventative maintenance processes.

• Lead asset life assessments and lifecycle management strategies for utility-scale PV assets.

• Attend site visits and factory acceptance tests as required.

• Develop and maintain tools to support the assessment of DEVEX, CAPEX, and OPEX assumptions.

Skills and Expertise:

• Degree qualification in electrical or relevant engineering discipline.

• Demonstrable experience and expertise in solar PV, gained from development, engineering, and/or operation of utility-scale PV assets.

• In-depth knowledge of PV technology and subsystems, including factors affecting PV plant performance.

• Detailed knowledge of major component suppliers.

• Experience in EPC, O&M, and equipment supply agreements, including technical specifications, annexes drafting, proposals evaluation, and negotiations.

• Ability to understand the technical implications of commercial objectives, with an excellent understanding of technical inputs to Financial Models.

• Creative problem-solver with a drive to implement solutions.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across different countries and cultures and translate complex technical problems for non-technical audiences.

• Strong project management skills.

• Professional and diligent attitude.

• Fluent English speaker; Spanish proficiency is an advantage.

• Experience/expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technologies is a plus.

• Willingness to travel internationally.
