Job description

TGRC is excited to have partnered with a leading renewable energy developer, headquartered in Asia, in search of a Head of Research, Renewables for their Singapore team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research to identify, evaluate, and innovate renewable energy technologies and systems tailored to the company's business and operational needs.

  • Perform modeling and simulations to analyze and enhance renewable energy systems, encompassing performance forecasts, resource assessments, and system integrations, such as large-scale solar PV, hydrogen, and BESS systems for renewable energy applications.

  • Design, coordinate, and execute experiments to validate renewable energy concepts, materials, and systems, ensuring thorough data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

  • Develop technical documents, research papers, and presentations to communicate research findings, methodologies, and conclusions to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead consultations with local authorities and agencies, staying updated on regulatory requirements and standards related to renewable energy technologies to ensure compliance in research activities.

  • Seek and foster collaboration opportunities with other research institutions in line with the company's technical goals. Work closely with project stakeholders to meet research objectives and project milestones.

Expectations:

  • Prior experience in renewable energy research, development, or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with renewable market analysis, experiment design, data analysis, and simulation tools are advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, renewable energy technologies, and relevant software tools (e.g., MATLAB, HOMER).

  • Ability to conduct literature reviews and research under guidance.

  • Knowledge of and experience with local, regional, and global energy policies and regulations, particularly those related to clean energy.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in experimental design, data collection, and analysis to ensure the reliability and validity of research results.

  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively and manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
