Job description
I have an opportunity as a Grid Engineer with an award-winning independent Onshore Wind Developer, located near Glasgow. They have a growing pipeline within the UK and are looking for someone to join the existing Grid Team; so prior knowledge of the grid is essential. The desired candidate would be working on multiple projects, focusing on the integration of renewable energy assets into the grid. The company has over 1.2GW of projects in the consented/planning stage and a further 2GW in early-stage development. Additional information and responsibilities:
Providing support to the Grid Manager at every stage of a project
Managing and optimising grid connection process at all stages from initial site selection, feasibility assessment, and connection application submission, through offer process, design, and functional specification
Managing and liaising with contractors and the relevant system operators to ensure timely and cost-effective energisation of projects
Working closely with the project team in scoping, assessing, and negotiating the technical and commercial aspects of turbine supply, EPC, and related tender submissions and contracts.
Ensuring grid code compliance and final operational notification are achieved on time for all projects, both new and operational assets
Staying informed of changes regarding the relevant grid and distribution codes and other relevant system operator publications and policies
Technical engagement with external consultants, contractors, independent engineers, and grid company as required
Coordination of electrical engineering design works (inc. substations, overall electrical systems, and all supporting designs)
Coordinate the NGESO Securities and Liabilities Review
Liaise effectively with team members to ensure the projects are suitably supported by the Grid team
