Client

My client are an international IPP who develop own and operate solar projects around Europe. They are looking for a Grid Manager to join the business and help connect a large pipeline of solar projects to the grid.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • new leads using GIS and following the journey with the DNO, and the Land team, until the lead progresses to an active project.

  • formal grid connection applications.

  • and budgetary pricing substation and relevant grid infrastructure equipment for the connection of projects.

  • and passing the knowledge torch on to less experienced team members.

  • with Network Operators and trade bodies at Stakeholder events and ensuring that policies are helping, not hindering, renewable deployment and the route to #netzero.

  • with ICPs, TAs and any other relevant technical parties.

  • reviewing new standards and policy documents and, where warranted, use the latest information to roll out process and design improvements.

  • the go-to technical and grid design expertise person for any support required in the development of projects.

  • with the transaction due diligence process and responding to any grid/network related queries.

  • with the DNO/TO post-acceptance to ensure the project is moving along and all the procedural or technical boxes are ticked off.

Qualifications / Skills Sought:

  • Team player with great communication skills and a structured way of working.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in utility-scale solar farm development and grid infrastructure design.

  • Proficient with MS Office and comfortable at creating models on Excel to assist with your designs/assessment.

  • Experience with protection communication requirements.

  • Commercial awareness of how design decisions and equipment specifications can affect the profitability of a project. Financial modelling experience would be advantageous.

  • Power modelling experience using DigSilent or an equivalent software tool would be highly advantageous.

  • Experience in the design of multi-megawatt Solar PV installations using AutoCAD and PVSyst would be highly advantageous.

  • Knowledge and experience in working with distribution and transmission network operators (DNO/TO) and

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, or related discipline.
