REQUIREMENTS:

• Electrical Engineering Degree or B.Tech is required

• Professional Registration with ECSA would be an advantage.

• Minimum of 5 Years PROVEN experience with PSS/e and DigSilent

• Five years of proven experience with Eskom in South Africa – either working for Eskom Grid Planning or working for a consultant on grid integration/impact and grid code compliance studies for IPPs (Independent Power Producers) in South Africa

• Ability in business development as this role is a dual role – firstly to support the business in Africa and grow the pipeline in South Africa.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support, and manage dynamic system modelling information and studies.

• Perform and lead a range of studies including Grid Code compliance, Grid impact Study, Transmission planning studies, insulation coordination, switching studies, power quality studies, EMTP Studies, transient & dynamic performance studies, small signal analysis & forensic studies

• Developing and recommending best practices for the conduct of system impact analysis (including electromagnetic transient analysis) of new renewable technologies, such as inverter-based generation, including wind, solar, and storage technologies.

• Present recommendations regarding system modelling issues and results to ISOs and Utilities.

• Develop and recommend best practices for power systems studies.

• Compile and evaluate technical reports, engineering calculations and provide independent review for clients.
