Electrical Engineering Degree or B.Tech is required
Professional Registration with ECSA would be an advantage.
Minimum of 5 Years PROVEN experience with PSS/e and DigSilent
Five years of proven experience with Eskom in South Africa – either working for Eskom Grid Planning or working for a consultant on grid integration/impact and grid code compliance studies for IPPs (Independent Power Producers) in South Africa
Ability in business development as this role is a dual role – firstly to support the business in Africa and grow the pipeline in South Africa.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support, and manage dynamic system modelling information and studies.
Perform and lead a range of studies including Grid Code compliance, Grid impact Study, Transmission planning studies, insulation coordination, switching studies, power quality studies, EMTP Studies, transient & dynamic performance studies, small signal analysis & forensic studies
Developing and recommending best practices for the conduct of system impact analysis (including electromagnetic transient analysis) of new renewable technologies, such as inverter-based generation, including wind, solar, and storage technologies.
Present recommendations regarding system modelling issues and results to ISOs and Utilities.
Develop and recommend best practices for power systems studies.
Compile and evaluate technical reports, engineering calculations and provide independent review for clients.
