​Job Title: Grid Connection Specialist (Contract)

Duration: 6-12 months

Location: Wales

Pay Rate: £450 per day

Our client, a leading renewable energy developer, is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Grid Connection Specialist to join their team on a contract basis for 6-12 months. This position will focus on solar and energy storage projects throughout Wales.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the grid connection process, as well as a strong background in renewable energy systems, particularly solar and energy storage technologies. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the development of clean energy solutions and play a vital role in promoting a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the grid connection process for solar and energy storage projects

  • Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), and other stakeholders to secure grid connection agreements

  • Evaluate and assess grid connection options, considering technical, financial, and regulatory factors

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of grid connection activities within project timelines

  • Monitor and track grid connection progress, providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective grid connections

  • Stay informed of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices

  • Support the development and maintenance of internal processes and documentation related to grid connections

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in grid connection management for renewable energy projects, specifically solar and energy storage systems

  • Comprehensive understanding of UK grid connection processes, regulations, and standards

  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, with a focus on solar and energy storage systems

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to travel to various project sites as needed

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
