Job description

​We are working exclusively with a well-established IPP in Germany that has been a major player in the renewable energy sector for over a decade. With a significant installed base of wind turbines and a growing pipeline of both wind and solar PV projects, this company is at the forefront of the clean energy transition.

As their portfolio continues to expand, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Grid Connection Engineer to be based at their office in Hanover.

The Role

This is a key position responsible for overseeing the full grid connection process of large-scale renewable energy projects across Germany. You’ll play a critical role in liaising with TSOs, DSOs, and other stakeholders, ensuring the seamless integration of wind and solar assets into the grid network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the grid connection process from development through to commissioning

  • Act as the primary interface with grid operators and regulatory bodies

  • Contribute to electrical design and technical grid studies

  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant German grid codes (e.g. VDE, BDEW)

  • Support planning, permitting, and construction teams with connection-related input

  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to connection timelines and technical compliance

Candidate Profile:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or similar

  • At least 3 years of experience in a grid connection or electrical engineering role

  • Solid understanding of German grid connection processes and regulations

  • Experience working on renewable energy projects (wind and/or solar preferred)

  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal communication skills

  • Fluent in both German and English
