Job description

The EV Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support to meet the company's goal of deploying new electric vehicle charging stations. This position is responsible for accomplishing all facets of electrical engineering in support of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. You'll collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to assist in shaping and executing our EV Business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for using engineering expertise to assist with EV infrastructure including electrical and physical installation requirements, EV Charger and electrical switchgear selection, transformer and conduit sizing, battery systems, EV Prototype coordination, etc.
  • A Subject Matter Expert for Electric Vehicle Charging, work closely with EV planning, Preconstruction/Construction teams, Procurement, Real Estate Team and others as needed
  • Develop relationships with suppliers and partners to aid in development of engineering processes to support Electric Vehicle Charging Business
  • Work closely with overall Electric Vehicle team to provide expertise and oversight on Design for Excellence to increase service, design for maintenance, diagnostic capabilities on next-generation products
  • Support strategies to scale charging station roll-out and sustain consistent growth in deployment
  • Proactively develop engineering processes and procedures to build out Electric Vehicle Charging Business

 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree/ 4 Yr Degree

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 10+ Years

Years of Management Experience: 2+ Years

Certifications/Licenses: Preferred: Professional Engineer Electrical

 

  • Bachelors of Science in Electric Engineering with advanced knowledge of line diagrams, schematics, CAD drawings, system architecture with experience with switchgear and utility transformer sizing
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written and strong collaborative skills internal and external, along with coaching and mentoring abilities
  • Strong Business Acumen, strategic and critical thinking skills with a Masters in Electric Engineering Preferred
  • Strong Project Management Skills, PMP Preferred
