​Job title: Head of Construction - PV & BESS

TGRC is looking for an experienced Head of Construction to oversee the construction of large-scale renewable energy projects throughout France. The Green Recruitment Company is partnered with a leading renewable energy company dedicated to creating a sustainable future through the development and implementation of solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction activities for solar PV and BESS projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and project management to develop comprehensive construction plans.

• Oversee the selection, negotiation, and management of construction contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and safety regulations.

• Provide guidance and support to construction teams, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement in construction processes.

• Implement rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure that construction activities meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor construction progress, conduct site inspections, and address any deviations from specifications or standards.

• Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across construction sites, implementing best practices to minimize risks and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain a safe working environment.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders including local communities, regulatory agencies, and utility partners, fostering positive relationships and addressing any concerns or issues proactively.

• Represent the company in meetings, public forums, and negotiations related to construction activities.

• Develop and manage construction budgets, tracking expenditures and providing regular reports to senior management.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize construction costs without compromising quality or safety.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on renewable energy projects, particularly solar PV and BESS.

• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion in the renewable energy sector.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

• Fluency in French and English; additional languages a plus.

• Willingness to travel extensively within France as required.
