Engineering Draughtsperson

Location:Remote, Hybrid or Office based

Requirements:

  • Preparation, finalizing, issuing (using appropriate platforms) and managing the filing of road design and related drawings.

  • Understanding/incorporating/implementing applicable drawing standards related to different clients and disciplines.

  • Developing and managing drawing standard pro forma’s and ensuring the implementation there-of.

  • Compilation of various types of drawings by various disciplines and ensuring a high level of quality control is maintained.

  • Adherence to company/project digital filing and storage systems.

  • Interface with design engineers, through clear communication (written, verbal and diagrammatically).

  • Must be able to prioritise and work unsupervised across various multidisciplinary projects, simultaneously if and where needed.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support, and manage dynamic system modelling information and studies.

  • Perform and lead a range of studies including Grid Code compliance, Grid impact Study, Transmission planning studies, insulation coordination, switching studies, power quality studies, EMTP Studies, transient and dynamic performance studies, small signal analysis and forensic studies

  • Developing and recommending best practices for the conduct of system impact analysis (including electromagnetic transient analysis) of new renewable technologies, such as inverter-based generation, including wind, solar, and storage technologies.

  • Present recommendations regarding system modelling issues and results to ISOs and Utilities.

  • Develop and recommend best practices for power systems studies.

  • Compile and evaluate technical reports, engineering calculations and provide independent review for clients.
