Job description
A leading player in the renewable energy sector, focused on solar and energy storage projects across APAC, is looking to hire a Energy Trading Manager. This role is instrumental in navigating the complex power market policies and trading regulations across the region.
Location: Flexible within APAC (Taipei, Malaysia and Japan preferred)
Role Description: The Energy Trading Manager will be responsible for enhancing power trading operations and managing green certificates and carbon emissions trading. This strategic position requires an individual who can effectively forecast electricity prices and manage intricate regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze power trading policies and electricity pricing forecasts to support investment decisions for the business.
Collaborate with consulting agencies, government bodies, and industry associations to ensure alignment with regional electricity market dynamics.
Manage the registration and trading processes for green certificates and carbon emissions on both national (GEC) and international (RECAPX) levels.
Negotiate and finalize contracts with end-customers for green certificates and electricity.
Continuously monitor and adapt to changes in electricity trading, green energy, and carbon emission rights trading policies.
Requirements:
Expert knowledge of power market policies and trading regulations within the APAC region.
Experience in forecasting, market analysis, and strategic planning.
Skilled in negotiation and contract management.
Fluent in English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with regional stakeholders.
Passionate about contributing to sustainable energy initiatives.
