​Role: Director/VP, Capital Markets

Location: Washington DC-Baltimore Area (On-site)

Our client is a leading energy transition company committed to developing, constructing and owning large-scale infrastructure assets throughout the US. With the backing of one of the largest global investment firms, my client is engaged in developing 17 + GW of solar and storage projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Originate, structure, and execute project finance transactions enabling the development, construction, and operations of solar, wind, battery storage, and hydrogen projects in the U.S. This will include development loan facilities, tax equity partnerships, tax credit transfer transactions, construction loans, and term loans.

  • Manage internal team members, external advisors, and transaction counsel, negotiate transaction documentation, own the financing model, create internal approval documentation, and evaluate transaction risks.

  • Coordinate company's response to due diligence on individual or portfolio financings, working closely with the development, engineering, and legal teams to respond to investor inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential investors, lenders, and advisors.

  • Mentor less experienced team members and cultivate a positive and inclusive high-performance culture.

  • Advise in the negotiation of critical project agreements including equipment supply agreements, PPAs, IAs, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements.

  • Allocate resources including time, capital, and attention to ensure tasks and larger financings are completed on time at efficient cost with technical accuracy.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 5-10 years of renewable energy project financing experience, including closing tax equity transactions

  • Undergraduate degree, with a graduate degree in business, finance, mathematics, or law preferred

  • Significant experience building, maintaining, auditing, and editing Excel-based project finance models

  • Experience reviewing and negotiating legal documents related to tax equity and debt transactions

  • Experience managing direct reports and a cross-functional project team of subject matter experts

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the creation and delivery of crisp management and investor presentations

  • Demonstrated record of guiding teams to success
