The Green Recruitment Company has partnered with a prominent Independent Power Producer (IPP) that focuses on Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Distributed Generation solar projects throughout the United States. We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead all engineering efforts and shape the future of solar energy.
Leadership and Strategy Responsibilities
Strategic Development:
Formulate and execute a comprehensive solar engineering strategy that aligns with the company's mission and objectives.
Team Leadership:
Offer strategic guidance and leadership to the solar engineering team, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Collaborative Planning:
Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other key stakeholders to set strategic priorities, goals, and performance metrics for the solar engineering division.
Project Development Responsibilities
System Design and Implementation:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of solar energy systems for large real estate portfolios, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Feasibility and Site Evaluation:
Conduct feasibility assessments, site evaluations, and technical analyses to identify suitable locations and configurations for solar installations.
Documentation and Compliance:
Oversee the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, and construction documents for solar projects, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Technical Expertise and Innovation Scope
Stay Updated:
Keep up with advancements in solar technology, materials, and design methodologies, and integrate innovative solutions into project designs.
R&D Initiatives:
Drive research and development initiatives to enhance the performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of solar energy systems.
Explore Trends:
Investigate emerging trends such as energy storage, smart grid integration, and microgrid solutions to optimize clean energy deployment strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
Relationship Building:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with real estate operators, developers, utilities, regulatory agencies, and industry partners.
Collaborative Sales Support:
Work with sales and business development teams to identify and pursue new solar project opportunities, providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle.
Industry Representation:
Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and events to promote our solar engineering capabilities and thought leadership.
Requirements
Education:
Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar engineering, with a proven track record of leading the design and implementation of commercial-scale solar projects.
Technical Expertise:
Strong technical knowledge in photovoltaic systems, solar panel technology, energy modeling, and project management.
Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
Communication:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Understanding of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing solar energy development and installation.
Certifications:
Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, or LEED AP are a plus.
