Job description
Position: Director of Engineering (Renewable Energy)
Location: San Diego, CA – Hybrid (up to 25% travel)
Salary: $ 200k – 210k Base + 30% Bonus
TGRC is working with a well-known Owner Operator that is expanding their footprint within the USA! As we transition away from traditional Oil & Gas Energy, they are looking for a Director of Engineering who will eventually build out their engineering team, demonstrating their team leadership skills and eventually transition towards a Vice President role. In addition, as the team progresses, there will also be exposure to carbon capture & storage. This role will be reporting to the VP of Development, and will be responsible for product development, project execution, as well as lead engineering efforts.
Our client develops, owns, and operates Utility Scale projects all across the country.
What you will Do:
·Have oversite of, and ability to design Utility Scale Renewable Energy Projects, on the electrical and civil engineering side.
·Be involved in project execution and various other developer responsibilities.
·Staying up to speed on the latest design, availability, and chemistry of BESS projects, especially throughout the EPC process.
·Coordinate with the various other teams to ensure project moves from conceptual designs all the way to completion of the project.
·Screen, hire, train and essentially build out a team of engineers which will report to you.
Qualifications
·7+ years of experience working within Engineering of Renewable energy projects
·Have a background working for a Renewable Energy Developer (preferred)
·Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, or thermal engineering. (MS preferred)
·Hire, build up & train a team of engineers that will report to you.
·work with third party consultants & also have experience working with EPC contracts.
·An engineering background, in a current Project Management role would be preferred.
·Ability to draw financial conclusions.
