Job description
The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to have exclusively partnered, with a new joint-venture, focused on acquiring, developing & operating energy storage assets, across the UK.
The business have already secured, one of the largest energy storage sites, in the world, plus have an impressive pipeline of storage capacity & projects, targeting a portfolio, in excess of 1.5GW in the UK, by 2027.
As momentum continues with this new & exciting, joint-venture - the shareholders feel it’s paramount to elect & secure, a new Development Director – to drive the organisation & development activities forward.
Brief overview of responsibilities.
Lead and manage the development team with a focus on the implementation of the company’s strategy
Devise creative planning and development strategies to overcome obstacles to achieve agreed quality standards and design specifications
Manage projects from inception to completion, including EPC management
Lead the feasibility assessments of development opportunities
Coordination of pre-commencement statutory consents and site investigation reports
Lead the BESS technology selection process
Lead technical due diligence of the development work for project acquisitions
Support the negotiation of contracts with EPC contractors & service providers
Liaise with planning authorities’, DNOs and National Grid to oversee the creation of feasible and effective project design briefs
Review project documents provided by the EPC Contractor throughout the design & construction process
Assemble a technical team of advisers and manage the external DM team
Hands-on management and monitoring of contractors and related service providers to deliver projects within time and on budget
Manage H&S requirements.
Develop and administer project budget reports, working in cooperation with the finance team, facilitating efficient monitoring of budgets, bookkeeping and reporting to lenders.
Skills & Experience;
Significant experience in and understanding of the UK renewable energy and BESS market
Strong track record and experience in working with DNOs, TSO, national grid and related service providers
Experience in working with EPC contractors and related service providers within the renewable energy / storage industry
Experience in managing and dealing with prominent third-party advisers including EPC contractors & related service providers within the renewable energy / storage industryProven experience and track record in negotiating and leading negotiations on debt and equity.
Proven experience in managing people and teams, holding previous senior roles within companies in the renewable energy sector.
