Job description

(Assistant) Project Engineer

Location: London, UK

Salary: DOE

TGRC is working with a leading renewable energy company who are looking for an Assistant / Project Engineer (dependent on experience), to join their team.

The position will require you to be responsible for supporting the origination and development of PV, Wind and BESS projects from origination to execution. You will also be handling multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development and construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Preliminary technical analysis for projects under development (in collaboration with internal development team).

  • Definition of the preliminary layout of photovoltaic, Wind and BESS projects.

  • Evaluation of the Yield analysis with PVsyst and related sources.

  • Technical design and optimisation of projects in collaboration with the internal technical team, design offices and/or external subcontractors.

  • Design iterations for CAPEX optimization.

  • Execution of Planning design pack, including layouts and section views.

  • Supporting Engineering Manager UK in defining technical specifications of the main equipment, as well as in the activity of Technical Due Diligence, internal and external.

  • Supporting the Grid Manager UK in processing Grid analysis, interfacing with DNOs and TOs, assessing and reviewing Grid offers

  • Supporting the Grid Manager UK in processing Grid applications: preparing G99 forms and supporting technical inputs, preparing Grid SLDs, etc.

Requirements:

  • BS Electrical Engineering or relevant degree.

  • 2+ years of PV design and feasibility experience.

  • Proficient with AutoCAD, PVsyst, QGIS and MS Office.

  • Knowledge of UK technical norms and standards.

  • Knowledge of planning mechanisms and requirements.

  • Knowledge of market-standard construction and equipment costs for grid connections.

  • Experience in providing technical support for energy-related projects with accountability for project performance and design.

  • Fluent language proficiency in English, another language as a plus.

  • Ability to travel regionally, depending on project location.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and structural design components and manufacturers.

  • Knowledge of BESS systems, with special reference to design and market regulation.
