​The Green Recruitment Company are working exclusively with a global renewable energy investment and development platform, who are seeking an experienced Country Manager for their Iberian business unit.

This role will oversee the management of Spanish pipeline and take acquired portfolios through to operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is key in representing the company in the Iberian region.

The Role:

• Play a strategic in role in evaluating new Spanish business opportunities for the platform to pursue, by taking into consideration the additional value-add provided by our shareholders.

• Responsible in developing a portfolio of projects, contributing to the overall Solar PV, Wind and BESS portfolio strategy

• Developing and managing a budget for successful delivery, subject to meeting and exceeding return thresholds set.

• Oversee and sign off of final legal agreements with landowner(s) with direction from our legal team, evaluate design of site, access and grid solutions

• Oversee and sign off of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) / planning application process and full implementation of the planning consent to deliver construction and operation.

• Liaising with procurement and technical teams to meet the technical development requirements required for all Spanish projects

• Develop relationships with regulators, incentive agencies, utilities and corporate offtakers with the aim to determined optimal route to market strategies for each of the projects. Negotiate route to market contracts with oversight from the Commercial Team.

• Act as lead representative in Spain and be responsible for the build out of the local team.

• Develop and deliver excellent community engagement and investment opportunities, with support from Communities Team.
  

The Individual:

• 15+ years’ experience in the renewables sector covering both wind and solar development, construction and operations.

• Ideally, the individual has built their career in the RE sector and specifically within the Spanish market and in project development

• Must have been involved in site evaluation, full development cycle, including being exposed to grid connection and EPC selection.

• Have a broad technical knowledge over the development process and Technical specialism in one or more of the following areas, providing the expertise in this area within the team: o Negotiation and securing land interests o GIS/Technical data skills o EIA o Planning o Grid connection o Taking projects through to financial close.

• To the extent, the candidate has had exposure in BESS and hybrid solutions, it would be considered an added plus.

• Must show ability to source deal flow across the development spectrum including greenfield opportunities.

• Be able to manage and lead a team including mentoring and coaching.
