The Construction Manager is responsible for oversight, coordination, and successful completion of assigned Solar Power Projects. The Construction Manager is a member of the leadership team, which includes the Sr. Construction Manager and Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Is the main point of contact with the client for construction issues to be resolved at the site level

  • Provide guidance & input to the project management team for all construction issues or changes that will affect scope, schedule or budget of the construction contracts or the EPC contract.

  • Ensure processes and procedures are appropriately followed by the construction team. Provide feedback to Director of Construction if changes are needed to support construction.

  • Ensure Superintendents are engaging with subcontractors to analyze work plans, work methods and progress. Identifying risks and opportunities in a timely manner to support the critical path schedule and contract requirements.

  • Ensures all project team members receive regular performance assessments and feedback, and that all assessments are fully documented

  • Direct supervisory responsibilities for project superintendents, environmental field specialists, project administrators.

  • Matrix supervisory responsibility for project team members including logistics, quality, safety and commissioning personnel.

Qualifications

  • Be able to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Be able to understand and interpret contract documents as they relate to construction.

  • Be able to execute moderate to advanced tasks in Word, Excel, or other business software platforms.

  • Be able to demonstrate professional written communications.

  • Be able to read and interpret the critical path schedule; experience with Primavera and/or Microsoft Project

  • Previous utility scale solar experience highly desired.

  • Experience implementing quality control/quality assurance processes.

  • Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

  • Understanding of construction math.

  • Success at managing and delivering construction projects on schedule and under budget.

  • Ability to analyze project scenarios and implement site-specific design modifications.

  • Self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Proven ability to manage and motivate employees.

  • Organized and able to meet deadlines.

  • Great attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
