This role can be based out of their offices in Houston TX, Boston MA, or Portland ME greater metro areas. Remote possible on a case by case basis.

Our client, a leading renewable energy project developer, owner, and operator, is currently seeking a talented Capital Equipment Procurement Manager to support their procurement efforts across a diverse portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects. With offices in MA, ME, and TX, this position offers flexibility in terms of location. As the Capital Equipment Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in leading and facilitating competitive bid processes for the selection and procurement of capital equipment, including solar modules, batteries, wind turbines, inverters, trackers, and main step-up transformers. Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate product options and provide recommendations for product selections.

  • Negotiate and manage supply agreements for power generation equipment, ensuring flexibility and appropriate technology to meet the demands of utility-scale wind, solar, or battery storage projects.

  • Develop market intelligence, pricing benchmarks, and a comprehensive database to forecast capital equipment pricing.

  • Implement and devise procurement strategies to secure optimal contractual terms and pricing.

  • Establish a logistics and lead time database to support the greenfield development pipeline schedule.

  • Oversee bid levelization and contractual negotiations.

  • Assist in the development of standardized procurement processes and templates.

  • Perform additional tasks as required.

  • This role may require up to 25% travel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience leading capital equipment procurement for renewable energy projects.

  • Proven track record of effectively negotiating contracts for utility-scale projects.

  • Direct experience working within the renewable energy industry is essential.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with an established network of relevant suppliers.

  • Effective negotiation skills.

  • Passion and enthusiasm for the renewable energy sector.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
