Associate, Capital Markets

Location: California (Hybrid/Remote)

We’re partnering with an exciting solar industry leader in their search for an Associate, Capital Markets!

With an extensive solar asset portfolio and being one of the largest household names in the North American solar industry, they are currently looking to grow out their Structured Finance team.

In this position, the Associate, Capital Markets will quickly gain an understanding of the renewable energy Structured Finance market. As a part of their team, you will create, structure, and manage financial models for portfolios of residential solar systems, as well as assist in the negotiation and execution of transaction documents. You will also provide support to other members of the residential business team such as Sales, Product Development, Operations, and Finance.

An ideal candidate will have an understanding of tax equity and the drive to work with leading finance providers in the renewable energy industry to broaden access of solar to a greater deal of the U.S. market.

This role will be based in CA, but can potentially be remote for the right candidate.

Main Responsibilities within this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in executing financial strategies for the deployment of solar loans and lease/PPAs

  • Gain knowledge and understanding of tax incentivized finance structures, warehouse lending facilities, term debt and public securitizations

  • Create, structure, and manage financial models

  • Negotiate and execute transaction documents

  • Support sales and product development and operations

  • Develop and explain financing strategies best suited to the objectives and limitations of certain situations

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering or related field.

  • 3-5 years’ work experience in energy or finance.

  • Knowledge of complex valuation and financing/economic modelling.

  • Expert knowledge of Excel, VBA and PowerPoint, and highly skilled with other MS Office products.

  • Renewable energy experience a plus but not required.

  • Experience performing financial modeling and an understanding of financial concepts (ROI, IRR, NPV).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are required.

  • Work-skill samples will be required as part of the candidate appraisal and review process.
