Job description
A leading multinational IPP is seeking an experienced Wind Project Manager to lead the development phase of onshore wind projects across Germany. With a significant and growing pipeline, the company is playing a central role in accelerating the energy transition across Europe and beyond.
Based in Hamburg, you will join a high-performing, cross-functional team and take ownership of wind project development from site origination through to RtB status. This is an opportunity to join a globally recognised energy company with long-term backing, structured growth plans, and a strong focus on delivering high-quality, bankable renewable energy assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full development lifecycle of onshore wind projects, from site selection and permitting through to RTB
Oversee project timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and internal reporting
Coordinate environmental and technical due diligence, including grid connection studies and wind yield analysis
Lead the permitting process, working closely with authorities, consultants, and internal legal teams
Engage with stakeholders including landowners, local communities, and municipalities
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, grid, legal, commercial) to ensure alignment throughout development
Support in securing all necessary approvals, land rights, and third-party agreements
Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with national and regional planning laws
Contribute to project strategy and portfolio optimisation within the wider German market
Your Profile:
Degree in engineering, environmental science, renewable energy or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in wind project development, ideally in the German market
Strong understanding of permitting processes, land acquisition, and grid connection in Germany
Proven track record of bringing wind projects through to RTB
Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills
Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel within Germany for site visits and stakeholder meetings
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, well-capitalised IPP at the forefront of the renewable energy sector. You will be part of a collaborative, international team with a clear mission: to deliver large-scale, sustainable energy projects that have a lasting impact.
