Job title: Wind Project Developer

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

The Green Recruitment Company are currently retained by a Global Private Equity firm who are looking to build their newly established Edinburgh office.

Key Responsibilities:

In the role of Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and overseeing a diverse array of sustainable energy initiatives. These projects will traverse the full spectrum, starting from their initial conceptualization to securing consent and advancing into the construction phase. Your responsibilities encompass, but are not confined to, the following:

  • Collaborating with the Development Team to mitigate early-stage project risks and facilitating the transition of projects from the development phase to pre-construction.

  • Conducting comprehensive analyses to pinpoint renewable energy prospects that align with specific criteria.

  • Participating in the creation of technical reports and contributing to the presentation of findings from technical investigations.

  • Utilizing familiar software tools for site analysis and conducting surveys to assess the feasibility of commercial wind and renewable ventures.

  • Guiding projects toward timely contractual closure and planning consents.

  • Playing a vital role in the preliminary and in-depth multidisciplinary technical assessments across all phases of renewable development, including prospecting, site evaluation, environmental impact assessments (EIA), permitting, and design.

  • Orchestrating external consultants for the execution of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and planning/permitting submissions.

  • Establishing and maintaining comprehensive project registers for each project under your purview.

  • Effectively managing and monitoring project risks and budgets, providing regular progress reports to the management team.

  • Formulating and implementing an efficient stakeholder engagement and communication strategy to cultivate trust-based relationships with landowners, local communities, planning authorities, statutory stakeholders, and other key participants. This includes active participation in site visits and community meetings.

  • Ensuring seamless collaboration with team members to deliver comprehensive support for projects, and willingly taking on any other reasonable tasks necessary to bolster the team's project delivery efforts.

Your Profile:

  • 18 months - 5 years of renewable development experience

  • Possession of a solid degree in a relevant field.

  • Valid UK driving license.

  • Proficiency in project management, organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and effective communication.

  • Comfort working with evolving project scopes, even in the face of competing priorities.

  • Proficiency in building and nurturing strong stakeholder and community relationships.

  • Aptitude for collaborative work across the organization and multiple projects.

  • Strong critical thinking, initiative, thoroughness, and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in preparing and crafting clear, high-quality, concise, and accurate reports and communications in the English language.

  • Effective time management and the capability to prioritize your workload for on-time task delivery.
