TGRC is looking for a Technical Solutions Manager to work with a private equity-backed energy and sustainability consultancy.

Company Overview:

The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be working with an award-winning, private equity-backed energy and sustainability consultancy, offering a specialist range of services to over 4,000 customers, including energy and carbon reduction solutions, energy procurement and contract management. Our client is now on the lookout for an experienced Technical Solutions Manager with a background in selling engineering, renewables, utilities or energy management services.

The Role:

Our client is now on the lookout for a Technical Solutions Manager to join the growing commercial team, providing an opportunity to work with a wide range of large clients and prospects. Reporting to the Technical Solutions Director, you will be responsible for supporting the customer success, new business and operations teams in their quest to retain, grow and win new customers. You will already have experience in at least one of the company's current service offerings; energy procurement, compliance services, design/engineering services and Net Zero advisory. You will play a crucial role in supporting the technical conversation with customers and prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise. Have an in-depth understanding of sustainable energy solutions, including renewable energy systems, sustainable building management, energy management technologies, carbon reduction strategies, and other innovative initiatives. Stay up to date with the latest industry advancements and emerging sustainable practices.

  • Sales and Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate closely with the commercial and operations team and the customer/partner to understand customer requirements and provide technical guidance throughout the sales process. Conduct thorough assessments of client needs, propose tailored solutions, and offer expert advice on the implementation and integration of sustainable energy products and services.

  • Customer Relationship Building: Build strong and enduring relationships with prospective clients, serving as a trusted advisor. Understand customer sustainability objectives, provide guidance on solutions, and promptly address technical inquiries. Demonstrate a customer-centric approach by actively listening to customer feedback and collaborating with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations and product development, to align pre-sales activities with overall business objectives. Share customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence to contribute to product development and refine sales strategies.

  • Industry expertise: Stay at the forefront of industry trends, evolving technologies, and regulatory developments in the sustainability sector. Attend relevant conferences, training sessions, and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills. Apply acquired knowledge to drive innovative pre-sales approaches and provide thought leadership within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field. Previous experience in a pre-sales, technical sales, or engineering role, preferably within the sustainability or clean energy industry, is highly desirable.

  • Solid technical background and understanding of either the energy procurement sector and/or sustainable energy practices, renewable energy systems, energy efficiency measures, government-funded decarbonisation and net zero schemes and related solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Active listening skills and the ability to tailor communication to diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess customer needs, identify solutions, and develop compelling proposals. Adaptable to changing customer requirements and adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated commitment to understanding customer needs and delivering exceptional service. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and integrity.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. Willingness to work closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to a positive team culture and support organisational goals.

In conclusion, Don't miss this exciting opportunity to be part of the renewable energy revolution. Apply now and be a key player in shaping a sustainable future!
