The Opportunity 

The Green Recruitment Company have partnered with a successful Developer and Investor in the UK Renewable Energy Market. With a core focus on Ground Mount and Rooftop Solar, they have developed and built a siginificant portfolio which they subsequently manage into operations. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and dynamic team, where technical due diligence on new development activities, management of the data room as well as ongoing asset management are part of the daily responsibilities. 

The Role

  • Due diligence / data room preparation:
    • Work as part of the team organising and developing the technical data room of the PV portfolio:
    • Assess the suitability of the technical drawings and documentation;  
    • Organise the documents following the existing structure; 
    • Identify any missing key document or drawing and initiate the process to procure them by liaising with contractors;
    • Review of PV projects to identify projects risks and issues affecting project valuations and propose possible solutions or mitigation strategies;
    • Perform site visits, analysis of project historical production data and review of their technology and of the EPC and O&M contracts.
  • Asset Management:
    • Monitor, using commercial software, the functionality of ground mounted and rooftop solar installations;  
    • Assess the severity of any fault impacting on the performance of the assets and propose remedial actions;  
    • Initiate remedial actions quickly by liaising with contractors;  
    • Organise and keep track of the contractors’ works to ensure timely completion;
    • Effectively communicate with contractors discussing their findings from site interventions and providing instructions; 

The Person 

  • 2-3 years’ experience in the solar PV industry working for a Technical Advisor; 
  • Good understanding of the PV technology, with experience in the review of the main PV equipment;  
  • Ability to read electrical and civil drawings; 
  • Demonstrable understanding of the typical KPIs and of the energy modelling of PV projects; 
  • Knowledge of the technical best practices, as well as local requirements for solar plants in the UK; 
  • Experience of reviewing Provisional Acceptance and commissioning requirements for PV projects; 
  • Experience with managing large data rooms of technical documents, organising and completeness; 
  • Familiarity with the use of monitoring software and the review of operational data and root cause analysis for solar PV Projects;
  • Experience with the review of the EPC and O&M contracts and ensuring compliance with those obligations.
