Job description

​The Statutory Inspection Technical Authority is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations across all operational territories. This includes, but is not limited to, adherence to PSSR, LOLER, PUWER, and Fire Safety legislation or their territorial equivalents. The role supports internal teams in the execution of thorough examinations, maintenance, and repair activities, while also providing technical oversight and guidance within the Statutory Inspection function.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all activities and projects align with relevant statutory requirements and industry standards across operational jurisdictions.

Technical Advisory

  • Deliver expert guidance on statutory inspection regimes to internal stakeholders, including technicians, coordinators, and engineers.

Procedure Development

  • Draft and maintain inspection and maintenance procedures that are accurate, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Risk Management

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

Training & Competence

  • Provide training on compliance requirements and support the development and assessment of staff competence, including coaching and upskilling where necessary.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare detailed reports on inspection outcomes and compliance status. Develop templates and documentation to support inspection activities.

Document Control

  • Ensure all documentation is managed in accordance with internal document control procedures.

Audit Participation

  • Contribute to internal audits and support the achievement of compliance objectives as outlined in the annual audit schedule.

Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)

  • Review and develop WSEs in line with applicable standards and codes of practice. Provide guidance on the validity and compliance of existing and new schemes.

Environmental Compliance

  • Adhere to internal environmental and waste management procedures.

General Support

  • Assist the department leadership in all aspects of compliance and operational support.

QHSE Responsibilities

Quality

  • Follow established quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Health & Safety

  • Act responsibly regarding personal and collective health and safety, report hazards, and comply with all safety training and protocols.

Environmental

  • Support environmental sustainability through adherence to waste management and other environmental procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • IOSH Certification

  • Full suite of GWO modules

  • OEM training on lifting and access equipment (wind or non-wind variants acceptable)

  • LEEA (Introductory, General, and at least one additional module)

  • PSSR Inspection & Testing

  • Auditing Training

Desirable Experience

  • Direct experience with statutory inspection under LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, and Fire Safety regulations

  • Document and procedure creation

  • Client-facing technical roles

  • Development and implementation of Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)

  • Offshore wind sector experience (preferred)

  • Proficiency in MS Office and general IT systems

  • Experience in reviewing and creating Written Schemes of Examination

  • Participation in internal or external audits
