Job description
Job title: Sustainable Energy Portfolio Manager
Location: European Economic Area (Remote)
The Sustainable Energy Portfolio Manager has an overview of both supply and demand side considerations regarding energy portfolio management and advises on energy portfolio strategies for our Commercial and Industrial customers. In this role, the Energy Portfolio Manager will work with the international Advisory Services teams that are responsible for account management and business development. As we scale the business with leading global corporates, the objective and expected outcomes are to maintain a robust energy portfolio management that is constantly improving to create the most value for our customers in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise the client on energy supply management strategies and implement commodity risk policies, active risk management and hedging as well as renewable purchasing programmes
Provide insight and market intelligence to customers in the form of reports, meetings and presentations with the support of regional Advisory Services’ consultants for risk management and sourcing experts
Understand and educate customers on industry trends, competitive landscape, energy market trends and relevant regulatory changes
Advise clients on the implementation of renewable purchasing strategies including power purchase agreements
Advise clients on the implementation of renewable energy roadmaps and zero carbon roadmaps
Drive the strategic energy sourcing workflow supported by Analysts: Pre-Qualification, RFP generation, supplier communications, bid analysis
Working with the global technology team to continuously improve energy management software
Demonstrate a relentless customer focus and provide consistent, excellent customer service through proactive and effective communication and planning
Establish and grow professional relationships with client members from different areas of the client organisation
Develop & execute strategic success and expansion plans to drive customer value and opportunities
Commercial awareness to identify new business opportunities whilst working closely with business development teams both pre and post-sale to ensure success
Performing other duties, such as presales, as required
Skills & Qualifications:
Prior energy experience and knowledge of different energy sectors, such as advisory, demand management, supplier management & regulatory policy
Working knowledge of natural gas and electricity markets
Analytical: ability to think about all the factors that might affect a situation
Problem-solving: an ability to think things through with incomplete data
Excellent computer skills and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills, experience with database queries and cost modelling
Budgeting, forecasting and price structuring
Strong communication and presentation skills; understanding the client's needs whilst focusing on the company’s goals
Min. 3 years of professional experience in a corporate setting preferably in the natural gas or power industry
Excellent self-organisation across documentation requirements and attention to detail
Lastly, maintain certifications where relevant
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in customer facing role with proven results
Prior energy experience and knowledge of different energy sectors, such as advisory, demand management, supplier management & regulatory policy
IT and programming skills (Python etc) that will improve existing spreadsheet-based model
