Job Summary:

The Sustainability Consultant is responsible for overseeing and implementing sustainable practices and strategies for various clients for a globally recognized Management Consultancy. The role involves developing and managing sustainability initiatives that align with the company's mission and goals, as well as monitoring and reporting on the firm's sustainability performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies, policies, and programs that align with the firm's vision and mission.

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify sustainability risks and opportunities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into ESG strategies and processes.

  • Monitor and report on the firm's sustainability performance, including tracking key sustainability metrics and producing regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on sustainability best practices, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and other sustainability initiatives.

  • Engage with external stakeholders, including clients, partners, industry groups, and regulatory bodies, to promote sustainability principles and advocate for responsible investing practices.

  • Stay informed about emerging trends, regulations, and best practices related to sustainability and ESG, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Lead and/or participate in sustainability-related projects and initiatives, such as impact investing, green bond issuance, and other sustainability-focused investment opportunities.

  • Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness and build capacity on sustainability topics among employees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Proven experience (at least 5 years) in sustainability, ESG, or related fields, with a track record of developing and implementing sustainability strategies and initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of sustainability principles, ESG frameworks, and responsible investing practices.

  • Familiarity with relevant sustainability standards, guidelines, and reporting frameworks, such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and information to make informed decisions.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex sustainability concepts to various audiences.

  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
